Rare Small Figural Wallpaper Bandbox circa 1830s

$0.00

SIZE
8 x 11 x 6" tall

DESCRIPTION
Desirable smaller size is harder to find than the big ones. Good for topping stacks. The smaller boxes were rarely scenic and usually used border papers. This one is an exception to that rule. One side has a Horse and Rider-- probably a herder or maybe Don Quixote. The other side has animal figures. The figures are extremely crude and stylized.

Acquired from an old DC estate collection that dates back to the 1960s

CONDITION
Well traveled. The paper is rough and would benefit from some TLC. Any issues are evident in the photos. 180 year old wallpaper that traveled on stage coaches. Its a miracle these things survive in any condition. Please examine the photos carefully. The photos tell the story.
