DESCRIPTION
William Craig Jr.,  Decatur County Indiana. ("IA" was the early pre USPS abbreviation for Indiana.) Nearly identical to a 1850 example, pp. 22 in Montgomery, 1975 "Indiana Coverlet Weavers." Border features 9 light candelabrum flanked by tree of life motifs. Fine example from one of the most renown Indiana weaving families. Ex. collection from a Southern Indiana estate. Looks good on a Queen bed with almost 6 inches of side overhang.

CONDITION
Early hand tufted silk strip on the head-end was fabricated for facial comfort. You can feel the original seamed end underneath. There's a bit of minor attrition on the side edges. Some mild discoloration mainly evident on the white Summer side. Otherwise very good. Very crisp handle.
