DESCRIPTION
Rare and very hard to find. Same variety of beaver as the Shelburne Museum specimen which is a framed fragment, panel # 31 (Carlisle pp 41). This one is sturdy and whole. Ex collection of Hillary Underwood and was sold through Sothebys 1983. Other provenances include Mrs Elizabeth McIntire’s School. In addition box has an old Period label of a hat shop at 18 Essex St., Salem just a stone’s throw from where they used to burned witches at the stake. The associated beaver hat bears the label of E F Porter 18 State St, Newburyport— which is a one day trip up the North Shore by stage coach from Salem.

CONDITION
Mostly original tho well traveled having various repairs. Please see photos.
