Unique Treenware Fluid Lamp c. mid 19th cent

$0.00

SIZE
8 1/4” tall not including burner

DESCRIPTION
Unlikely object. Possibly one of a kind. Making a lamp with wood is like making a boat with cardboard. But here it is. Hard maple with beautiful elegant turnings and patina. The secret to its functionality is the fact that the oil chamber consists of a tin canister. The burner fitting is by friction. For the early lighting collector who thought he had everything. Beautiful rare object

CONDITION
Seam separation in the tinwork. Aside from this, excellent. Please see photos.
