DESCRIPTION
Ref: Lilian Carlisle's "Shelburne Museum Bandboxes pp. 61. The design is called "Pair of Ruffed Grouse." The Shelburne example has a Boston label by Mark Worthley. A good decorative example of a very rare and hard to find bandbox.

Acquired from an old DC estate collection that dates back to the 1960s

CONDITION
Well traveled but sturdy; various repairs and flaws are evident in the photos. 180 year old wallpaper that traveled on stage coaches. Its a miracle these things survive in any condition. Please examine the photos carefully. The photos tell the story.
