Red Painted Three Finger Shaker Pantry Box c. early 19th cent

$0.00

SIZE
7 3/4 x 5 3/8 inches

DESCRIPTION
Circa 1830’s. Elegant swallow-tail fingers with fine dry Indian red paint. Mortice-mounted mercury-silvered fragment mirror was secured with tiny 19th century brads. This box has a signature and I’ll bet Willis Henry or someone that really know a lot about Shaker stuff can figure out who the maker was. Old Garths label. Unique and interesting object. Hard to find size plus rare color— would fit well in a stack or wherever.

CONDITION
Honest wear with chip on rear foot as shown. One old iron cut nail repair; all other nails are original copper See Photos.
