Fine Rare Blue American Wallpaper c. 1835

$0.00

SIZE
13 x 16 x 10 1/2” tall

DESCRIPTION
Floral side motifs are similar to the Shelburne collection piece identified as “Summer flowers” (v., Carlisle, no 99 pp. 71). Very opulent with saturated blue ground. The lid (original) is a rare historical motif called “Windmill Railroad” (v., Carlisle, no 81 pp. 120). This interesting paper commemorated the horse drawn three car spoke wheel train that made its debut at Quincy, Mass in 1826. Very splashy box— ex Peggy McClard.

CONDITION
Well used but sturdy and fairly good condition as these things go. Examine photos.
