$0.00

SIZE
20 1/4 x 17 x 13 3/4” tall

DESCRIPTION
At 20 inches— one of the largest boxes we’ve seen. If you are putting together a stack this one will go on the bottom. According to the Philadelphia City Directories Henry Jones Bandbox manufactory operated at Jones Alley from 1831- 1844. This pretty much comprises the entire heyday of American figural wallpaper bandboxes. The last photo shows Barne’s ad in Philadelphia’s McElroy Directory, 1839. This particular motif is identified in the Shelburne collection as “Eagle and Prey” (v., Carlisle, no 87 pp. 56).

CONDITION
Well used and shows use-wear— tho relatively sturdy.
