DESCRIPTION
I've seen several of these over the years including one in the Austin Fine collection which sold at Northeast in 2010 (lot. 554). I make it as a miniature bride's box and I wonder if they were made by one guy. They are usually blue; all have similar tulip decoration w. similar brushwork. All are crafted entirely using wooden pegs. I priced this one just a little bit under the Fine collection box. However, this is far and away the nicest one known. Amazing condition with original snipe hinges and front latch; Original paint is spectacular/ near-mint.
