217-4-- Chelbard Eagle Karaja

$0.00

SIZE
  4ft 5 x 6 ft 5 in

DESCRIPTION
There's a little village north of Heriz called Barjid which lies halfway between the Karaja area and Chelbard in the Caucusus where the eagle Kazaks were made. Word on the street is that the Barjid weavers were immigrants from Chelbard that brought the traditional design and applied it to the Karaja format and weave. These older pieces are rare-- especially with ivory medallions. This is a very decorative old rug.
