Berlin Connecticut Painted Tinware Tole Coffee Pot

$0.00

SIZE
9 1/4 inches

DESCRIPTION

Berlin Connecticut, possibly Edward Francis, New York (Martin and Tucker vol 4, pp., 17). Complex "onion" rose. The painters of these early pieces were essentially borrowing the same motifs used on English pearlwares of the early 19th century. (this is themes and variations on the classic "Leeds rose"). Interesting evolution. Straight spot coffee pot are rare; A fine bold example.

CONDITION
Well used-- the asphaultum has wear. The paint decoration is less worn but not perfect.
