DESCRIPTION
Large heavy cast stick. Engraved Dutch signature is hard to read; however 1629 date is fairly clear. This is a very early date for a Heemskerk form stick. Beautiful classic candlestick with gutsy proportions. Exceedingly rare to find brasswares with dates and inscriptions.

Ex English author and early metalware curmudgeon Rupert Gentle and was sold in the Manor House, Wilts, England for $872 in 1994. (Receipt will be enclosed with sale.)
