Classic New York CA form with dynamic splayed turnings; 9 spindles; sharply chamfered seat. The underseat stenciled monogram is possibly that of John Bell or James Barclay. (The latter was a dealer rather than maker ((ref: 1997; N. G. Evans )).

CONDITION
 Well executed repair on left stretcher. Otherwise, very good and sturdy with original paint history and patina.
