Post-Medieval Yellow Glaze Earthenware Saucer Stick 16th/17thcent

$0.00

SIZE
6” pan diameter

DESCRIPTION
I suspect this piece was archaeological. Possiblly Surrey-Hampshire borderware. This one was apparently designed to be used either as a chamberstick or hang as a sconce. Similar sherds turned up in Jamestown excavations. Note slotted extractor which to me suggests 17th century. This object was ex collection of the late Marian Atten who was focused entirely on Pilgrim Period objects. Marian had things rarely seen even in books.

CONDITION
Restoration of cracks and breaks. Good luck finding another one in any condition outside a museum. See Photos.
