DESCRIPTION
Wood and Son, Staffordhshire “East View of La Grange." The inspiration for this transfer (see last photo) is a circa 1825 lithographed by French artist Isidore-Laurent Deroy based on a painting by American Hudson River artist Alvan Fisher. General Lafayette was a favorite subject among early 19th century Americans and there are several renditions in historic blue Staffordshire transferwares.

A rare and beautiful estate piece in fine condition.
